"The mission of the Volunteer Program at Athelas is to provide opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to interact with non-paid community members in a program setting, experience more community outings than would otherwise be possible, to engage in quality relationships with people in their communities and to build better networks, environments and supports."

Athelas offers both one time and ongoing Volunteer Opportunities for individuals 18 years of age or older in the following areas:
Vocational Workshop Assistant Activity Assistant Personal Mentor
Special Events Facilities Maintenance Administrative Assistant
Community Mobility Activities Special Projects Guest Speaker / Training Facilitator
Fundraising Virtual Volunteering  

Athelas encourages corporate/employee volunterring, Baby Boomer volunteers, Generation X volunteers, Senior Volunteers, Faith based communities, online/virtual volunteering, service learning, college and university volunteers and family volunteering.
