Food Lion MVPDonations:  Are you a Food Lion MVP cardholder?   If so, you can click on the link www.foodlion.com  and register to allow a portion of all your purchase totals to be donated to Athelas through the "Food Lion Shop & Share Program."  If you already participate in the Food Lion program, you will need to re-link your cards each year.

Ink Cartridge and Cell Phone Recycling: 

Athelas is currently accepting donations of used ink cartridges and cell phones for recycling.  Your donations can be dropped off at our administrative office in Columbia, Maryland.

       Cards of Compassion:

                        This is a perfect gift, for the holidays or almost any occasion.

                                       Annual Campaign:                                         

The third Annual Athelas Institute Fundraising Campaign for 2008 is underway. Our goal this year is $80,000.

Sponsorships are available at the the following levels:  Monthly sponsors at the amount you specify (postage paid envelopes will be provided at your request), Century ($100-$249), Benefactor ($250- $499), Silver ($500-$999), Gold ($1000-$4999), Platinum ($5,000 and greater).  You can also designate a memorial or honor gift.  At this time of year, we also encourage you to consider Athelas in your will or estate planning and we can provide details on these gifts upon request.

Your tax-deductible donation will help us reach our goal to provide superior service for our individuals and can be mailed to our Administrative office in Columbia. Thank you for your consideration and support.

15th Annual Golf Tournament:

We are now accepting regristrations for our September 9/2/2008 golf tournament and awards luncheon.  This event always proves to be a success and is always a fun day for all participants.  Sponsorships are available at many levels.  Contact Melissa Tyler @ mtyler@athelasinst.org or 410-964-1241 ext. 104 for details and regristration information.

In addition to monetary donations, Athelas has an ongoing "wish list" of items that we are in desperate need of.  The most recent list can be found in our online newsletter section.  Please contact Pat Owens at plowens@athelasinst.org or 410-964-1241 ext. 128 for further information or to make donations.

Volunteer:

Many exciting and rewarding volunteer opportunities exist at Athelas for persons of all ages!  Business groups are also encouraged to volunteer.  Most of these positions can count toward valuable community service credits. Contact Pat Owens at plowens@athelasinst.org or 410-964-1241 Ext. 128 for details on current opportunities and restrictions.   Minimum age is 18 and any necessary training will be provided by Athelas at no charge.
